Located on a seven-acre site in Groton, the new Marine Science Magnet High School is within easy reach of the Birch Plain Creek Estuary, Pine Island Bay and Project Oceanology at Avery Point - all of which play an integral role in the magnet school program. The 250-student school houses a large aquaculture facility and state-of-the-art science labs along with general classrooms, a library media/technology center, ‘Great Room’, CAD lab, electronics lab, conference rooms, offices, kitchen, cafeteria and other specialty rooms and display areas. The building’s HVAC system utilizes geothermal heat pumps.
