The Sarah J. Rawson elementary school now has a capacity for 750 students in grades PreK-8 and houses the Village for Families and Children, a community program that provides after school and evening activities, such as homework and tutoring lessons, computer, art, counseling and parenting programs. The renovation project consisted of the construction of a 46,700 SF addition and renovation to 67,190 SF. It includes a new gymnasium, kitchen, cafeteria, media center and science classroom/labs. Other major changes were new parking, bus drop-off and parent drop-off area, new playing fields and a new playground.
