Thermally Corrective Fluidized and Granular Materials
O&G Industries Inc. offers both fluidized and granular products for use in backfilling and encasing underground power transmission and distribution lines. Our products are custom designed in close consultation with Geotherm Inc. of Toronto, Ontario and offer the unique mineralogy and composition necessary to meet the low thermal resistivity requirements necessary for such applications. We have supplied our Duct Bank Concrete, Thermal Trench Fill, and Thermal Granular Fill products to encase more than twenty miles of 345 KV XLPE wire in southern Connecticut and our Thermal Granular Fill was also recently used to backfill power lines on two wind energy projects in upstate New York. Duct Bank Concrete: High compressive strength, low thermal resistivity concrete product used for encasing power transmission lines where protection of power lines and workers from inadvertent excavation is required.
Thermal Trench Fill: Low compressive strength, low thermal resistivity flowfill product used for backfilling or encasing power transmission lines.
Thermal Granular Fill: Granular product with low thermal resistivity used for backfilling power lines or other utilities where easy excavation is required.
