In October 1997 O&G Industries broke ground for a 25,000 SF addition to and a total renovation of the 35,000 SF Science Building at The Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, Connecticut. The Architect, The S/L/A/M Collaborative of Glastonbury, Connecticut, was charged with giving new technological life to the 40 year-old science building, meeting the latest code requirements and physically expanding the facility while maintaining the integrity of the campus architecture.

As Construction Manager, O&G had to coordinate and control the trade contractors working over and around the existing building while classes were in session: maximizing safety and security while minimizing disruptions, all while maintaining the project budget, schedule and level of quality demanded by the Owner. The interior consists of new physics, biology and chemistry laboratories. The existing building’s exterior walls and roof were replaced to match the new addition. Interior renovations created new seminar rooms, a lecture hall, chemistry laboratories and faculty offices.
