O&G Industries, a Connecticut-based construction firm, was recently awarded a contract to build a new handicapped accessible entrance at the historic Cathedral of Saint Joseph in Hartford, Connecticut.
The new entrance will add 11,000 square feet of space to the existing building and include a passenger drop off area that provides convenient handicap access to a new elevator system. The project will also create additional restroom facilities and storage space.
“We’ll be adding a number of high-end finishes on the project including stained glass windows, glass railings, wood panels and ceramic tile” stated O&G Project Manager Christina Rossi. “We want to ensure that the quality of the building’s finish work meets the Archdiocese’s high standards.”
Work on the project began in October of 2014 and is expected to be completed in the winter of 2016. PEPIN Associates is the project architect. O&G is the Construction Manager for the project.
