O&G believes that a successful business should improve the well-being of the community it serves. The employees raise funds for various worthwhile programs throughout the year. Among them are:
Pledges made through payroll deduction as well as various raffles and picnics help raise money for The United Way.
O&G continues to sponsor teams of walkers for the annual American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. Many hours of work go into organizing, planning and fundraising for this event. O&G raises thousands of dollars for this cause every year.
Tireless transformers. With four weeks of labor donated by O&G Industries and directed by the company’s General Superintendent, Leo Nardi, crews worked with “O at Home” to “de-institutionalize” the feel and function of the Bethel Recovery Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut, a safe haven for women recovering from addiction. Hundreds of items of food and toiletries are collected throughout the year and donated to the local food banks.
The Torrington Fire Department’s annual toy drive to benefit Christmas for Children was a huge success. Employees raised funds as well as donated hundreds of toys for underprivileged children living throughout the greater Torrington area.
O&G employees are proud of their community involvement through both formal and informal efforts and pledge to continue and expand these programs.
